Josephine and Jocelyne are the founders of Shelter Them. Josephine is a single mother and lives in Ontario with her two children, Joshua and Abegail. She works to improve the lives of blind and deaf children at the Ministry of Education. Josephine is the Chair of Shelter Them Rwanda’s Conflict Resolution Committee. Jocelyne also lives in Ontario with her husband Michael and their daughter Aliyah. Jocelyne works as a customer service specialist for Marsh & McLennan Companies. Jocelyne is the Secretary and the Trustee in charge of Communication and Institutional Relations for Shelter Them Rwanda.
Based in London, England, Duarte and Paula Pedreira are both finance professionals. Paula is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of experience in audit, accounting, project and change management. She currently works for the Pension Insurance Corporation as a Senior Project Manager. Duarte works for Crown Agents Bank, specialising in trade finance and is also a board member of the International Trade and Forfaiting Association. Paula assists Shelter Them in terms of its finance & administration and Duarte focuses on strategy, institutional relations, and governance. Duarte and Paula are now respectively the Chairman and the Treasurer of Shelter Them Rwanda
Based in Brampton, Canada, Aretha and Bradley have been involved with Shelter Them since its inception. She is an Executive Assistant at Church on the Queensway, where she supports the Executive Associate Pastor. She oversees Human Resource responsibilities and leads a team of 10 administrative assistants. She brings a wealth of expertise to Shelter Them as a result of her over 15 years’ experience working in various finance and marketing roles from financial analyst to sales & marketing coordinator. Aretha is a member of Shelter Them Rwanda’s Conflict Resolution Committee
David and Sherry Jenkins live in Newfoundland, Canada and have been involved with Shelter Them since 2008. David is a retired pharmacist and Sherry is a retired nurse. They both help Shelter Them in terms of the organisation’s fundraising efforts. In 2012 after their second visit to Rwanda, David and Sherry were responsible for initiating the Shelter Them Child Sponsorship Program, which to date has 160 monthly sponsors supporting 78 children. David is the Trustee in charge of Fund Raising for Shelter Them Rwanda.
Golou Naderi focuses primarily in assisting Shelter Them Rwanda as the Trustee in charge of Governance, Risk and Audit. Golou was born in Iran and raised in Canada, where she has lived over the last 35 years. She currently works at Manulife Financial in Toronto as a fraud and abuse investigator and risk management analyst. Golou has been involved with Shelter Them in Canada for the last 12 years
